No. RaiseMe awards are built into existing ASU merit scholarships (i.e., NAmU scholarships). Students receive additional funds only if the RaiseMe funding exceeds the value of the ASU merit scholarship. Students who are receiving both types of funds are notified of how the funds are awarded via their Financial Aid Notification. For example, a Financial Aid Notification could include the text below:
You qualify for the $6,000 resident Dean’s Award based on your high academic performance. This annual award is renewable for an additional three years, for a total of four years or eight semesters, and a total value of $24,000 (which includes the $20,000 you earned through RaiseMe).
