Yes. The local police investigate your report to determine whether a crime occurred. ASU cooperates with local police agencies when investigating but the investigation is independent of the police. You have the option to report the incident to the police, to Student Rights and Responsibilities or both. You also have the right to participate, or not participate, in the investigation as it progresses. If the person is found responsible for a violation of the ABOR Student Code of Conduct, it can result in sanctions including suspension and expulsion from the University.
We strongly encourage victims of sexual violence, sexual harassment, stalking and relationship violence to seek support and report the incident. The following reporting options are available to ASU student who have been victims. We understand individual circumstance may determine if and how a victim chooses to make a report. A victim can choose to pursue one or more of these reporting options.
