Can I repeat a class at a community college to replace my ASU class grade?

« Go Back
Information

ASU grades can only be replaced by repeating the course at ASU. Undergraduate students are allowed to repeat up to 12 credit hours for grade replacement, where the higher ASU grade is used in GPA calculations. Once the 12-credit limit is reached, additional repeated courses will have both the original and repeated grades averaged into the GPA.

Undergraduate students may take equivalent courses at a community college to fulfill ASU degree requirements. However, if the original course was completed at ASU, the ASU grade remains in the GPA—even if the course is later completed elsewhere with a grade of “C” or better. In such cases, the transfer course may fulfill the requirement, but it will not replace the ASU grade in GPA calculations.
