Changes to external email standards impacting ASU email auto-forwarding

« Go Back
Information
Beginning on April 1, 2024, major email service providers, including Google, Yahoo, Apple and others, are implementing new email security measures and policies that may impact those who auto-forward their @asu.edu email to external email service providers. Technologists from across the university have been working to ensure campus email systems are in compliance with these providers' changes.

Because of this change, we encourage every ASU faculty member, staff member and student who has enabled auto-forwarding to disable this feature. Failure to do so may result in emails to and from your @asu.edu email account being delayed or undelivered.

The following steps will resolve this issue in fewer than five minutes:
  1.  Sign in to My ASU.
  2. Select the "Profile" tab in the top navigation.
  3. Scroll down to "Contact Details" and click the dropdown menu option labeled "Email."
  4. Click "Manage your ASU email address."
  5. Select “MS Exchange for ASU" or "Gmail for ASU" to request the change to your email delivery.
  6. Once the verification email is received within the email service you have chosen, click on the link provided in the email to verify your choice and complete the change.
Even if you do not forward your email to external providers, please remember that students and colleagues who have not changed their settings may not receive emails you send until they update their settings. If you notice unexpected delays in email response times, we encourage you to contact them through alternative channels.

Please contact the ASU Experience Center if you have any questions or concerns.
