Check-in Process

« Go Back
Information

Students moving into or out of University Housing at any time during the academic year are required to complete the official check-in and check-out process. This process ensures that students receive their room key, document the condition of their assigned space, and have their ASU ID activated for access to their residence hall or apartment community.

After confirming your housing assignment, you will receive your assigned move-in date and time, along with instructions for your designated check-in location. On your scheduled move-in day, report to the designated check-in location, where a Student Desk Assistant will assist you with the check-in process, issue your room key, and provide a Room Inventory Report (RIR).

The Room Inventory Report should be completed and submitted before moving any personal belongings into your room. Completing the RIR helps document the condition of the space at move-in and may be used during the check-out process. Your ASU ID will also be activated during check-in, allowing you to access your assigned residence hall or apartment community.
