If you are a DACA student, have lived in Arizona for more than two years and have graduated from an Arizona high school, with the passing of Arizona Proposition 308, you will be eligible for in-state tuition rates and state-funded scholarships.
Learn more about Proposition 308.
If you do not meet the residency criteria set by Proposition 308, view options below that may help offset the cost of college and help you to pursue a degree.
1. The ASU Foundation offers
“The DREAM Fund” which is funded by private community donations.
2. Apply for private scholarships that do not specify U.S. citizenship or lawful presence in the scholarship eligibility criteria. Be sure to read the eligibility requirements carefully to ensure you qualify. Private scholarships may be offered by nonprofit institutions, individuals, government agencies from your country of citizenship and a number of other sources. For additional information, visit
ASU's Financial Aid Resources for Students Regardless of Immigration Status website. Additional scholarship information can be found at:
3. ASU offers a
payment plan which breaks down certain eligible charges (tuition, housing, meal plan, parking permits and health insurance) over three months within the semester.
4. Private loan providers may be willing to provide loans to non-citizen students. Applicants of private loans should familiarize themselves with the loan terms (especially the interest rates and repayment conditions), since private loans may have higher, fluctuating interest rates and are not covered by the guarantees that protect federal student loan borrowers. For additional private loan information, please visit the
ASU Private Student Loan website.
5. Since DACA students are employment authorized, explore the option of
part-time employment, which would allow you to work to help finance your education costs.
6. To make college costs more affordable, consider alternatives to the traditional four-year, full-time enrollment. Begin your postsecondary education at a community college, where tuition may be a fraction of the cost of the university. After completing transferable coursework at the community college level, you may look to
transfer to a four-year college to finish your degree.
