Pre/Corequisite OR Reserved Seats Override
-
Fill out the Undergraduate Design Curriculum Petition.
-
Reach out to designadvising@asu.edu with questions.
Instructor/Department Consent OR Graduate Level Course OR Time Conflict Override
-
Email the instructor of the course you are requesting permission to take. Clearly state why you require the override.
-
If the instructor provides approval, forward the instructor’s email with date clearly visible to The Design School at designcourses@asu.edu for final department approval. The request must include:
-
Your name
-
Student ID
-
The type of override you are requesting (i.e. time conflict, instructor consent, department consent, or graduate-level course)
-
Course prefix and number (e.g., ABC 123)
-
Course title
-
Five-digit class number found on the class search
-
Reason why you are requesting the override - be specific
-
Attach a copy of your unofficial Transcript (why is this important? To accelerate course prerequisite checks.)
-
Your request will be reviewed for final department approval. If your request has been approved, the override will be entered, and you will be instructed to enroll in the course. If the request is denied, you will be advised on the next steps. It may take up to 5 business days to receive a response.
-
Check the Academic Calendar to determine the last day to add a class without college approval for this semester. If you are requesting to add a class after that date, you will also need to submit a Herberger Late Registration Appeal Request. Late adds are not guaranteed.
