Information
New Phone, Same Phone Number
If you get a new phone with the same phone number, and you only want a phone call or SMS messages to authenticate, you don't have to do anything. If you want to use DUO push or passcodes from the DUO App on the new phone, you need to re-activate your new phone by doing the following:
  1. Install the Duo Mobile app on the new phone, by following the instructions in the Installing the DUO App article. It may appear already if you have backed up your phone from a restored device.
  2. In a browser, go to the two-factor authentication screen on the My ASU.
  3. Click on “Profile” in the top navigation bar.
  4. In the expanded “Passwords and Security” box, click on “Two-Factor Auth Device Management”.
  5. On the new page, click on “Call Me”.
  6. On your phone, answer the call, and press # to authenticate with your device. (if you only have one device enrolled on your account, contact the Experience Center at 1-855-278-5080 for help to add an additional device).
  7. On your computer screen, after authenticating with your phone number, click “Device Options”.
  8. Click the "Reactivate Duo Mobile" button.
  9. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish enrolling the new phone.
  10. On your Duo App on your phone, add a new account, or reactivate the previous ASU account by holding your phone camera in front of the QR code on your computer screen.
For help or more information, see Duo’s Enrollment Guide.
