Whether you are an ASU student or an alum, Career and Professional Development Services offers several ways to help you put together a professional and effective resume. You can schedule an appointment with a career advisor, submit a draft through Resume Dropbox, or take a look at our resume worksheets to guide you in creating or revising your resume.

Your resume should be a one- to two-page marketing tool that highlights your education, skills, qualifications and experience. Resumes are required for most application processes for internships and full-time positions. There are many styles and formats to choose from. The resume should be easy to skim, consistently formatted from top to bottom, error free and filled with information that is relevant to the position for which you are applying for.

There are several sections that are important to include on a resume including:

  • Name and Contact Information
  • Summary
  • Education
  • Experience, including jobs, internships, and even relevant class projects
  • Skills and Qualifications
  • Community Involvement and Leadership
