How can I turn in my Financial Needs Analysis (FNA)?

« Go Back
Information

If your scholarship or tribal funding requires an FNA, here’s how to submit it:

Please note: If you are a Navajo Nation scholar, please complete your application through the Office of Navajo Nation  Scholarship and Financial Assistance portal. Our office will be notified to compete the FNA through the online portal.

Step 1: Select and submit the correct eForm

  • Go to the American Indian Funding page.

  • Find and select the FNA eForm for your tribe (or choose “Other Tribe” if yours isn’t listed).

  • Complete and submit the form online

📝 Step 2: Gather any additional required documents

Many tribes require these documents in addition to the FNA:

  • Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) or tribal ID

  • ASU admission or enrollment verification

  • Official transcripts (high school or college)

  • Completed FAFSA and your Financial Aid Award Letter

🕒 Step 3: Submit early

Submit your FNA at least 3 weeks before your tribe’s deadline or before the semester starts to avoid delays.

📌 FAQs

Q: What is an FNA?
A Financial Needs Analysis is a form completed by ASU’s Financial Aid Office. It shows your cost of attendance (tuition, fees, etc.) and your financial aid eligibility so your tribe can determine scholarship support.

Q: How do I know if my FNA was sent?
You’ll get a confirmation email once ASU sends your FNA to your tribe.

Q: What if my tribe asks for actual semester charges?
Some tribes (like Quechan and Tohono O’odham) require semester charges to post before they’ll accept your FNA. Check with your tribe for specific requirements.

📞 Who to contact
