This article is for ASU Students or Alumni who currently have ASU Gmail Access. The steps outlined in this KB Article will help you configure your ASU Gmail System to use smtp.gmail.com to send emails as your ASU Email Account. This will enable you to send email from your Personal Gmail, Microsoft Account (MSN, Live, Hotmail, Outlook, etc), Yahoo Email, Cox Email and others. Please follow these steps closely for successful configuration:
- Ensure the alias exists in your ASU Email Account - Click link to access your ASU Email Settings.
- From your Email Settings page click on the pencil icon to view Email Aliases (use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browser if possible).

- Verify your alias exist in the list, in this example we will be using Sparky.Sundevil

*Note: You can use any of your aliases on this list
- Ensure ASU Gmail settings are set to
- Next click link to visit ASU Gmail Page.
- Click on the cogwheel button on the top right of the page to bring up your ASU Gmail Menu Dialog.

- Click Settings to bring up your ASU Gmail Settings page.

- From your ASU Gmail Settings page click Accounts tab on the top and click Add another email address.

- Enter details for the alias you want to add to your ASU Gmail.

- Enter your Name as you want it to appear when using this alias to send email, in this example we use Sparky Sundevil.
- Enter your Email Address using the alias you verified from step 3 affixed with @asu.edu: Sparky.Sundevil@asu.edu.
- Uncheck Treat as an alias if it is checked and click Next Step button.

- Click Send Verification to verify the email you are trying to add as your ASU Gmail alias.

- Check your email for the verification, you can follow the link from the email or enter the verification code provided in the box, once completed click Close Window to take you back to your ASU Gmail Settings Page.

- Close the browser tab or navigate away from the Settings Page.
- After your alias is set up in your ASU Gmail, you can send emails using this alias or add it to other emailing system such as Personal Gmail, Yahoo, Cox, etc.
