You can create an
FSA ID when logging into certain U.S. Department of Education websites:
Follow the steps below to create your FSA ID:
- From any website listed above, click the link to create a FSA ID.
- Enter your login information. Provide your email address, a unique username, password and verify that you are at least 13 years old (due to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act). Then, click continue. Hint: write down this information and keep in a safe place for future reference.
- Enter your personal information. Provide your Social Security number, full name and date of birth. Then, click continue.
- Enter your mailing address, email address, telephone number and language preference. Then, click continue.
- For security purposes, provide answers to five challenge questions. Then, click continue. Hint: write down this information and keep in a safe place for future reference.
- Submit your FSA ID information. Review your information and agree to the Terms and Conditions. Then, click continue.
- You will receive an email that contains a secure code that you must enter back into the ED website. If you’re accessing your email via the web, make sure to open a separate browser window.
