How do I know if I have been approved for a loan, and what terms will the loan be disbursed?

« Go Back
Information
To be considered for federal student loans, you must file a FAFSA.  Federal direct loans are offered automatically after you have completed your financial aid file.  You will be able to accept/decline your awards by signing into your My ASU.  Any loan amount accepted will be evenly divided into two disbursements, one in the fall term and one in the spring term.

Private education loans require a separate application with a lender of your choice and are approved based on the applicant's credit history.

For more information on how to accept and decline your loans, see  financial aid's Act On Your Loans web page.
