Arizona State University uses Backpack to receive Outside Scholarship payments. Outside scholarships are funded by organizations or individuals other than their parents/guardians. ASU no longer accepts paper checks and all payments must now be submitted online.

Through this portal, Scholarship providers can:
- Provide key scholarship details for student(s)
- Upload an award letter (optional)
- Make secure online payments via one of three methods:
- Checkout (Pay now): Enter bank account and routing details directly in the portal for secure payment processing.
- Payment Link (Pay later): Receive payment instructions through email, allowing your accounting/treasury team to complete the payment through a payment link.
- Manual ACH: Send payment directly to {{University_Name}} by using our banking details (available on request)

A: Scholarship payments made through Backpack will be visible on My ASU within 5 days.

A: No, tuition payments are made through ASU https://tuition.asu.edu/billing-finances/pay-options
Q: Where can I check the status of my scholarship check payment?
A: If your scholarship provider includes your email address when payment is submitted, you will receive an email to confirm a scholarship payment was made.
Q: How can I send in the student's award letter?
A: You can upload the award letter via Backpack. You can also include the student's email address to send notification of award.
