Information
Standards Petitions are required for students who are requesting an exception to a university or college policy.  The most common petition requests include:
  • credit hour overload that exceeds the university maximum of 18 credit hours for a fall/spring semester
  • third time repeat of a course
  • retain a prior catalog year
  • exception to university graduation or general studies requirements
All College of Integrative Sciences and Arts Standards Petitions are submitted electronically via DocuSign and reviewed by the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts Standards Committee. You will be asked for your contact information, major, credit hours completed, GPA, and a statement that clearly explains the reason for your request, how the approval will benefit your academic progression and the steps you will be taking to successfully complete your program.

The College of Integrative Sciences and Arts Standards Petition and committee meeting schedule is available on the following link:
https://cisa.asu.edu/standards_petitions

Please submit your petition at least two business days prior to the Standards Committee meeting date. The committee decision will be emailed to the address provided on the petition.

Please note: Some petitions require a secondary review by the ASU University Standards Committee which may delay the final decision regarding your request.

For questions about the petitioning process, please call 480-965-1970 or email
