The
ASU Undergraduate Leave of Absence Policy assists and encourages undergraduate degree-seeking students to return and graduate after an absence of more than two semesters from ASU. However, if you are enrolled in the
Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College iTeachAZ program and decide to take a leave of absence, your progress could be affected due to state certification requirements.
Because Arizona state teacher certification requirements can change from year to year, you may be required to take additional classes upon your return to ASU, in order to ensure your degree meets current state certification rules. Additionally, student teaching placements may also be altered in your absence, due to changing district partners and to insure your clinical experiences will fulfill state certification rules.
Please consult with your
academic advisor prior to leaving the university to discuss your options.
