Is Exception to Sex-based Housing Available?

« Go Back
Information

Exception to Sex Based Housing (ESBH) accommodations are offered within residential college communities at no additional cost. First-year students live in residential college communities with others who share the same major or career interests.

Students may elect to request an Exception to Sex Based Housing (ESBH) accommodation directly through their housing portal. ESBH assignments are based on available housing space and cannot be guaranteed.

Each accommodation request is confidential and follows the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which affords students certain rights with respect to their education records. Staff members cannot disclose personal student information unless a student submits a FERPA Consent for Access form.

Students may select ESBH in their housing portal at any time during the housing application process. Once the request is received, University Housing may contact the student to gather additional information, if needed.
