Information
If your parents are not U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens, you and your parent can complete the Parent PLUS Loan Special Circumstance form and attach documentation showing they are not U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens (i.e., copy of a passport or visa).

On the same form, you can request additional student Direct Unsubsidized Loan funds. There are specific limits on the amount of additional student Direct Unsubsidized Loans that may be awarded. It is based on your grade level, your remaining cost of attendance and your remaining aggregate lifetime limit.

Additional Unsubsidized Loan limits:
  •  $4,000/year for freshmen and sophomores (0 to 55 credit hours earned)
  •  $5,000/year for juniors and seniors (56 or more credit hours earned)
