Procedure
“What does On-Demand and Session-Based mean?”
- ULCs are offered in two different asynchronous online modes, Session-Based and On-Demand. Session-Based courses have specific start and end dates that line up with semester sessions, with weekly due dates in between to keep learners on track. On-Demand courses are open to enroll in at any time and can be completed at the learner's own pace, having up to a year from the start date to complete the course. Learners must be enrolled in On-Demand courses for a minimum of six weeks to convert it to college credit, or add it to their ASU transcript. Both course options do not require specific times to meet as a class online, and both options have modes of reaching out to the instruction team for support. You can view which modes a course is running from the bottom of the course tile in our catalog.
Please note: admitted ASU students cannot take Universal Learner Courses.
