The Public Service Academy (PSA) Scholarship may be available for members of the Next Generation Service Corps (NGSC).
Award Details:
- This award is renewable for up to 8 terms for Freshmen, and up to 4 terms for Transfers.
- It is available for the Fall and Spring terms only; the Summer term is not eligible.
Requirements:
- Eligibility is determined by the NGSC.
- You must be enrolled in 12+ credit hours in order for the award to disburse.
- For questions on eligibility, you can visit this page.
How It Works:
- The award amount is based on your residency status, your base tuition, and the other financial aid you are receiving.
- For in-state resident students, the PSA Award = Base tuition - all other ASU scholarships/grants.
- For out-of-state non-resident students, the PSA Award = $17,500 annually - all other ASU scholarships/grants.
- This means that for a non-resident student, if your base tuition for Fall and Spring exceeds $17,500, you may have a balance once your PSA Award and other financial aid applies to your charges.
Other Financial Aid:
- Most types of financial aid will subtract from the total amount of PSA funding that you can receive during a term. However, there are some exceptions listed below:
- Federal Pell Grant
- Private/Third Party Scholarships
- Residential College Leader
- Thunderbird Scholarship
- Medallion Scholarship
- Barrett Community Scholar GPF
- Barrett Honors College thesis project expenses
- The above awards will not be included in the calculation when determining the PSA award.
Study Abroad:
- Students are able to utilize PSA Award funding for studying abroad through ASU. However, it is important to note that the calculation will still be based on your base tuition.
- This means that study abroad fees are not covered or included.
