Subsequent ISIR (FAFSA) transactions are created when you and your parent (if dependent) make changes to your
FAFSA, when the Federal Processor updates your financial aid history, or by a school completing verification or exercising professional judgement.
Per federal regulations, ASU is required to evaluate all your subsequent ISIR (FAFSA) transactions for the entire processing year, even if ASU has verified an earlier ISIR (FAFSA) transaction.
After the evaluation, if required, ASU will post a request for additional documentation to your
Priority Tasks on
My ASU and notify you via your ASU email account. You must submit the additional documentation before any federal student aid disbursements can occur.
If your federal student aid has already disbursed, you will have three weeks
to submit the additional documentation.
If you do not submit the additional documentation within three weeks, some or all of your previously disbursed federal student aid must be billed back.* You will be notified of any bill back via your ASU email account and the bill will appear on My ASU.
*Without the additional documentation, ASU will be unable to resolve the discrepancies and substantiate your previous federal student aid disbursement(s). Therefore, federal regulations require ASU to return some or all of the federal student aid that was previously disbursed.
If some or all of your federal student aid has been billed back, within certain time frames, you may be able to submit the additional documentation and be considered for federal student aid reinstatement. There is
no guarantee that the same type of aid or amounts will be reinstated. Reinstatement eligibility will be determined based on the additional documentation and the date it was submitted.
Contact our office for submission deadlines.
