Functional GroupFinancial Aid
Information
To be considered for federal student aid, you must complete a FAFSA. Include our Federal School Code 001081 and the U.S. Department of Education will send your FAFSA to ASU in three to five business days. You must have an admission application on file before ASU can begin evaluation of your FAFSA.

If you are selected for verification, you must complete the Financing Tasks posted on My ASU in order to determine your eligibility.
  • Once all of your documents have been submitted, your file will be evaluated.
  • If ASU makes any corrections to your FAFSA, the corrections will be sent to the U.S. Department of Education. This process takes seven to 10 business days.
  • You will be sent a new Student Aid Report by email from the U.S. Department of Education that shows the changes made.
  • Awarding occurs after verification is completed, using the time frame below.
If you are not selected, no Financing Tasks will appear on My ASU. If you are determined eligible for financial aid, you will be awarded using the time frame below.

Beginning with the 2017-2018 year and moving forward:
  1. first-time freshman awarding begins in December
  2. continuing and transfer student awarding begins in March
  3. graduate student awarding begins in May
