What Is the School of Community Resources and Development (SCRD) Internship?

Undergraduate Internship Overview

The School of Community Resources and Development Senior Internship is required for online or Downtown Campus undergraduate students to bridge academic learning with professional practice. This transformative experience provides students with a critical opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world professional settings.

Internship Options

Standard Internship Tracks

Students have two primary internship pathways:

  1. Comprehensive Internship Track

    • Duration: 12 weeks
    • Hours: 540 total hours
    • Credits: 12 credit hours
    • Course: CRD 463
  2. Condensed Internship Track

    • Duration: Abbreviated timeframe
    • Hours: 270 total hours
    • Credits: 6 credit hours
    • Course: CRD 463

Specialized Major Requirements

  • Recreational Therapy Majors: 560-hour internship requirement

Additional Opportunities

  • Minors and Certificates
    • 135-hour internship
    • 3 credits (PRM 484)

Flexible Professional Pathway

For students with substantial industry experience, a professional track option is available. Eligibility is evaluated on a case-by-case basis, recognizing the diverse professional backgrounds of our students.
