What are the prerequisites to start the Interdisciplinary Studies major core courses?

If you are interested in taking one of the IDS core courses, some courses may have prerequisites:

  • IDS 301: Becoming Interdisciplinary – Students who are Applied Quantitative Science BS, Interdisciplinary Studies BA, or Interdisciplinary Studies (Organizational Studies) BA major OR Visiting University Student.
  • IDS 401: Experiential Learning – Students who are Applied Quantitative Science BS, General Studies BA, Interdisc Studies BA, or Interdisc Studies (Org Studies) BA major and have completed IDS 301 with a grade of C or better and have a minimum 2.00 GPA are eligible for this course. You will also need to submit an application to enroll. To find out more about applying to take IDS 401 and deadline dates, please visit the IDS 401 web page: cisa.asu.edu/401-experience
  • Enrollment in Integrative Application Courses is an option for students in any ASU major who have completed at least 45 credit hours of coursework, or for students who have Visiting University Student status.
