What Can I Do with a Speech and Hearing Science Major?

Graduates of the BS in our Speech and Hearing Science program attain broad-based knowledge in the basic aspects of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. This program prepares them for graduate study in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology, or potential employment opportunities in related Health and Behavioral fields. Advanced degrees or certifications may be required for academic or clinical positions. Example careers include, but are not limited to:

  • Audiologists
  • Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
  • Hearing Aid Specialists
  • Special Education Teachers, Preschool, Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle, Secondary
  • Healthcare Social Workers
  • Health Specialties Teachers, Postsecondary 
  • Educational, Guidance, School, and Vocational Counselors
