« Go Back
Information
Direct Lending refers to loans made and processed through the U.S. Department of Education (i.e., a lender).

The U.S. Department of Education works with several loan servicers to manage the billing and other services on your federal student loan. A loan servicer will work with you on repayment plans, loan consolidation and will assist you with other tasks related to your federal student loan. Your loan is assigned to a loan servicer after your loan is disbursed.

To determine the loan servicer of a loan, visit the National Student Loan Data System for Students
. You will need your FSA ID to log into the website.
