Participation in your classes is critical to your academic success and your eligibility for financial aid. Federal and institutional rules require ASU to review your financial aid eligibility if you receive all E (failure) grades for a term or session. If you receive all E grades you are considered an unofficial withdrawal and your federal financial aid is subject to a Return of Title IV calculation using the midpoint (50 percent) of the term or session. This adjustment to your financial aid results in a bill on your student account for the amount of financial aid that is being returned to the U.S. Department of Education.
Students, follow these steps to complete a quick survey that confirms participation:
- Log in to My ASU.
- Visit My Classes on the left side of your home page.
- Click the $ icon next to each class.
- Complete the survey.
Click Submit.
Remember: Failing grades affect your financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress. Failing grades are counted as hours attempted and not completed, so they will negatively affect your Pace Rate. You must pass at least 67 percent of the courses you attempt to remain eligible for federal and institutional financial aid. Pace Rate is measured annually after spring term.
