If you forgot your FSA ID username, follow the steps below or watch this
video.
1. Go to the
Retrieve Your Username website.
2. Select one of the options to retrieve your username. Then, click
Continue.
*If you haven’t provided and verified your mobile phone number or email address in your FSA ID account, and you can’t remember the answers to your challenge questions, you will have to contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center by calling 1-800-4-FED-AID.
---If you choose the text or email option:
• Enter your verified mobile phone number or verified email address and your birthday.
• Enter the secure code that is sent to your phone or email and click
Continue.
• Your username will then appear on the screen.
---If you chose to answer the challenge questions option:
• Enter your Social Security number, last name and date of birth.
• Answer your challenge questions correctly and click
Submit.
• Your username will then appear on the screen.
Important details:
- An FSA ID is locked after three unsuccessful authentication attempts. Do not attempt to create a new FSA ID if you have been locked out of your account.
- Your FSA username will not expire but your FSA ID password will expire every 18 months.
