What is Pell Overpayment Status Verification?

« Go Back
Information
The U.S. Department of Education notifies ASU if you have received one or more over payments of the Federal Pell Grant. You are required, by law, to repay any Federal Pell Grant funds for which you were not entitled. Until your over payment has been resolved (i.e., repaid), you are ineligible to receive any federal student aid, including loans.

To resolve your over payment, you must pay the amount owed. For information on what is owed, call the U.S. Department of Education at 1-800-621-3115 or visit My Federal Student Aid and log in with your FSA ID.

After payment has been made in full, please contact U.S. Department of Education to obtain a Paid in Full Pell Over Payment Letter. This letter will be mailed to you directly. ASU cannot request this letter on your behalf. Once you receive the letter by mail, please upload a copy through the Pell Grant Overpayment Resolution Verification eform.

Need additional help? Access 24/7 live chat, create a case from My ASU Service Center or call 855-278-5080.
