What is a University Grant?

« Go Back
Information
Funded by ASU, the University Grant is available in limited amounts each year.

You will be given priority consideration if you are:
  • An eligible undergraduate student, seeking your first bachelor's degree.
  • Completed your FAFSA by January 15 for the following academic year.
  • Submit all documents listed in your My ASU Financing Tasks within a few weeks of being requested.
  • Demonstrate high financial need.

Proration:

  • University Grants will prorate (adjust based upon your enrollment) during the Fall and Spring semesters for immersion students. If you are enrolled fulltime, you will receive 100% of the award. If you enroll at three quarters time, you will receive 75% of the award. If you enroll halftime, you will receive 50% of the award. If you enroll less than halftime, you are no longer eligible for the award.
  • University Grants do not prorate for ASU Online students.
  • During the Summer the University Grant does not prorate, but you must be enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit hour.

Please note the following:
  • Receiving a University Grant in a prior year does not guarantee future University Grant offers. Your eligibility is evaluated each year based on the information included on your FAFSA, as well as available funding at the time you are offered financial aid.
  • All awarded aid is based on full time enrollment. If you receive a University Grant and are enrolled for less than 12 credit hours as of your census date, your grant will be prorated
  • University Grants are generally not offered after you have earned more than 120 credit hours
