Information

An Institutional Recommendation, also known as (IR), is:

  • A verification of your program completion at ASU that you can use to apply for your teacher or administrator certification at the Arizona Department of Education (ADE).
  • Your IR verifies that you completed an approved Arizona State Board of Education teacher preparation program and is sent directly from MLFTC to the ADE on your behalf.
  • A time saver. If you use an IR, you will not need to submit an official transcript to the Arizona Department of Education for course-by-course evaluation.
  • A money saver. It saves you money when you apply for your certification by decreasing the fee amount paid to ADE.
    • If you are an Arizona Teachers Academy financial-aid recipient, the cost of your Arizona Certificate application is waived.
