What is an iCourse, an oCourse, and Should They Appear in Canvas?

« Go Back
Information

Arizona State University offers a range of opportunities for students to engage with course materials.

  • An iCourse is an internet-based course that can be taken by on-ground students only.
  • An oCourse is an internet-based course that can only be taken by students who belong to the ASU Online Campus.

Both courses may appear in Canvas, depending on if the instructor uses the Canvas Learning Management System. Please note that instructors have the discretion to choose whether to use Canvas as the teaching platform for their courses.

Generally, you will gain access to your Canvas courses two to three days before the course begins.
