What is the Pediatric Communication Clinic?

The Pediatric Communication Clinics@ASU is a part of the Arizona State University Speech and Hearing Clinic that offers programs that enrich language and literacy for children.
  • Speech language pathology graduate students provide speech and language therapy under supervision of a certified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in both the toddler playgroup, preschool services, and the summer programs. 
  • Toddler playgroup is for children between 18 months to 3 years with or without speech language delays. The toddler playgroup is designed with activities and transitions to facilitate the child's communication, language, learning, motor and social emotional skills, and overall development. 
  • Preschool services work in tandem with the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College Preschool to include speech and language screenings, assessments, and clinical interventions. Diagnostic assessments may be available upon request. 
Please contact the clinic for information on individual therapy for children ages 2-5 years with speech and language development concerns, or for developmental and early education evaluations for children ages 0-5 years.

The Summer Preschool Oral Language and Literacy acquisition Program is a summer camp that focuses on speech, receptive and expressive language development, and pre-literacy skills. Skills include alphabet knowledge, letter sound correspondence, phonemic awareness, shared reading and writing, and social thinking skills. The toddler playgroup is also offered for 5 weeks over the summer.
