If you have strong content knowledge in traditional subject areas (e.g. math, English, social studies, sciences, etc.) and wish to teach, this certificate program is for you.

The secondary education certificate offered through Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College is designed for ASU undergraduate degree-seeking students from a variety of majors who wish to pursue teacher certification in grades 7 to 12. This certificate integrates teacher preparation with your academic specialization, helping you develop the requisite teaching knowledge and abilities to successfully teach middle or high school students. 

Requirements: 
Clinical experience and student teaching are required components of this certificate. Students who complete this certificate program will be issued an Institutional Recommendation for teacher certification in Arizona. Students desiring to teach in a public school must also pass the appropriate Arizona Educator Exams (NES) in both content area and professional knowledge to be certified to teach in the state of Arizona. Any ASU undergraduate student who possesses a 2.5 GPA can add this certificate to his/her academic record.
