The U.S. Department of Education notifies ASU Financial Aid and Scholarship Services when you must confirm your identity.
To complete this process, you must verify your identity using a valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID. You have two options to do so:
-
Option 1: In-Person Verification
Visit our campus location in person and bring a physical copy of your valid, unexpired, government-issued ID*. Please ensure the ID is current and includes your photo.
-
Option 2: Zoom Verification
If you are unable to visit in person, you may contact us to schedule a Zoom video call. During this call, you will be asked to present your valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID* on camera for verification.
Acceptable forms of unexpired identification are:
- driver's license
- non-driver's identification card
- other state-issued identification card
- U.S. passport
Please note the following:
- School IDs, bank cards and non-photo identification are unacceptable.
- This requirement is not applicable to scholarships or employee tuition benefits.
- This requirement does not determine your eligibility to register for classes.
*Government-issued ID is one issued by the U.S. government, any of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, a federally recognized American Indian and Alaska Native Tribe, American Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, or the Republic of Palau.
