What is the Difference Between Blackboard's Send Email and Course Messages?

« Go Back
Information
Blackboard Send Email and Message tools are used to correspond privately with other users enrolled in a single course. You cannot send email or messages to users who are not enrolled in the course.

Send Email
  • Allows you to send email to a recipient's ASU email address.
  • The email is sent with your email address in the From line.
  • If the user replies to the email, the response will be sent to your ASU email address.
  • You cannot receive email within Blackboard.
  • Blackboard email is not connected to your ASU email, so a copy of the email will not appear in the Sent folder. If you need confirmation that you sent the email, tell Blackboard to send a copy of the email to your ASU email address.
  1. To access Send Email, click on Tools in the course menu. If Tools are not visible, the instructor has removed it from the course menu.
