Why Do I Have a Drug Conviction Resolution Required on My Priority Tasks?

« Go Back
Information
You reported on your FAFSA that you have been convicted of an offense under federal or state law involving the possession or sale of a controlled substance while you were receiving federal student aid (such as grants, loans or work-study).

The length of the suspension depends on the type of offense and the number of convictions. Complete the Student Aid Eligibility Worksheet to determine when you can regain federal student aid eligibility. You may also regain eligibility early by successfully completing an approved drug rehabilitation program or by passing two unannounced drug tests administered by an approved drug rehabilitation program. If you have questions, please call 1-800-433-3243 or visit the Federal Student Aid website for students with criminal convictions. If you regain eligibility during the award year, you must notify ASU Financial Aid and Scholarships in writing.

If you answered the question incorrectly, you must correct your FAFSA by changing your response on question 23 to "no". Please allow three to five business days for the FAFSA correction to be received by ASU.
