Information
ASU Financial Aid and Scholarship Services must compare your current ASU grade level and prior degrees earned via official academic transcripts to your answers on the FAFSA before determining your financial aid eligibility. This item was posted to your Financing Tasks on My ASU because conflicting information exists between your admit status and your FAFSA.

The two 2019-2020 FAFSA questions that we compare to your ASU Admission Services records:
  • FAFSA Question 28 (under the Student Demographic tab): Will you have your first bachelor's degree before your begin the 2019-2020 school year?
  • FAFSA Question 48 (under the Dependency Tab): At the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year, will you be working on a master's or doctorate program?

  • FAFSA Question 47 (under the Dependency Tab): At the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year, will you be working on a master's or doctorate program?
You must resolve the conflicting information on your FAFSA before you will be offered or disbursed any financial aid. If you answered any of the above questions incorrectly, please correct your FAFSA online. The FAFSA correction will arrive at ASU within three to five business days. When no conflicting information exists, this Financing Task will be completed.

Tips:
  • If you have completed your first bachelor's degree, make sure ASU Graduate Admission Services has your final official academic transcript showing that you have earned your first bachelor's degree.
  • If you will be completing your first bachelor's degree in one semester and will immediately be a graduate student for the next semester, you must wait until your bachelor's degree is verified before this item can be completed.
