ASU requires all on-campus students, employees and qualifying university affiliates to obtain an official ASU ID. The ASU ID can be issued in either digital or physical form.
Except for eligible new employees who may receive one ASU ID free of charge, Sun Devil Card Services sets the fee for issuing an ID or a replacement card. Online students must have an approved photo on file with Sun Devil Card Services and may also choose to purchase an official ASU ID.
The ASU ID represents the ID holder’s “proof” of affiliation with the University. For example, an ASU ID allows access
to, and may be required for, certain university services and privileges, such as:
- ASU Libraries, which includes the privilege of checking out materials
- Some buildings, classrooms and residence halls
- Sun Devil Fitness facilities
- Academic advising and testing
- Employee identification
As well as for other optional services, including, but not limited to:
- Campus meal plans, such as Maroon and Gold (M&G) Dollars
- Campus copy and print services.
Only the person pictured on the ASU ID can use that ID to make purchases or conduct other business. An ASU ID is not transferable from one person to another.
