Some anti-virus software will flag proctoring programs (e.g. RPNow by PSI Education, Respondus Lockdown Browser) as suspicious since the proctoring program operates to take control over a computer. This will alert the anti-virus software and cause the proctoring program to function incorrectly.
A workaround for this is to temporarily disable the anti-virus software. The process would include the following:
- Disable the anti-virus software.
- All anti-virus softwares operate differently. If you need assistance in doing this, please contact the ASU Help Desk at 1-855-278-5080.
- Take the exam using the proctoring software you need to use.
- Restart your computer.
- Enable your anti-virus software.
ASU runs all third-party software (e.g. RPNow) through a security review process to ensure they are safe to use.
